Guess what, folks?

There is no chapter post today because I have a niece! =D (Because if having a brand new baby niece named Alyssa Rose with tiny little adorable fingers isn't a reason to slack off, I don't know what would be.)

However, instead there is a fanart contest!!

I know it's been a while since we did one of those and the last didn't gather much turnout, but hopefully this one will garner a little more interest, and I know there are some new faces knocking around. So. Here's the skinny.

This is a fanart contest for the second Fallen Into Grace trilogy. I need fanart of Timothy and Dante! The twins and Maddie! Human!Simon or Kitty!Simon! But it doesn't need to be the new characters, just the new circumstances. So you could do EMT!Mika or, I don't know, Benjamin putting his foot up Edmund's ass or something.

Winners will receive a shortfic and I promise I will actually write them as I have gotten much better about that lately. ^^;; All entries will receive a FIG drabble of their choice. That's right, people. I'm bribing you just to enter now. =D Seriously. You can request a fic right along with your entry. (One drabble per entrant, not per entry, plzkthx.)

Let's make the deadline in one month, March 22nd! Please put all entries as a link here, so I can find them. Any medium is fine, any rating is fine, et cetera. If you need any character descriptions or have specific questions, leave them here as well. That's it! Have at it!

ETA: Just to be a teensy bit pedantic (and because I'm really hoping someone does me awesome angelic fanart) (and because it's been an issue in the past) please to remember that Zachariah's wings are completely black, and Benjamin's are white but with streaks of black and crimson because he's so much cooler that way. That is all.

Today's chapter is being delayed in a protest against SOPA and PIPA. 'Cause let's face it, among the many sites that will be affected if this numbskull legislation passes is Livejournal and most of the pages on it.

Some notes on the 25 Days of Christmas....

Okay! All the fun starts tomorrow! Prompts that are NSFW will be clearly marked. There will be a post daily, sometimes two posts, so make sure to check! There will be no post on Christmas Day since I'll be busy and I assume most of you will be as well. =D Original fics will be friends-only; fanfics will be public.

A couple prompt specific things to say...

To the person who requested 'Christmas with the Chancellor family' in The Way Out is Through AU!canon, I am happy to write this and have in fact already written this, but I don't want to post it until after I've posted the whole of that fic. So take heart, it shall be delivered in January.

A couple of these prompts will probably be combined, specifically 'Rylee tried out the gender thing' + 'Rylee & Everett interaction', along with 'yearly Christmas gathering with the Variance cast' + 'Bryce and Skyler exchange Christmas gifts'.

Last but not least, to the person who requested 'Edmund and Zachariah switch bodies, freaky Friday style': WAHAHAHAHA! I am so turning that into a sidefic rather than a drabble, so it may be a while before it appears, because that prompt is comedy *gold* waiting to happen.

Returning, triumphant, from 2008, it's The 25 Days of Christmas Fics!

For the 25 days of December, leading up until Christmas, we will post a drabble every day! Requests are now open! This year's theme is KnK Fics, kink-meme style! Here's how to play:

1) Anyone may request a fic. Lurkers are welcome.

2) Multiple requests are fine. Request as many as you want! Request one, think about it, and come back to request more! But...

3) Please post each request in a separate comment. Or else I will become woefully disorganized.

4) Make all requests anonymously. Hopefully Captcha won't give you something that looks like this.



I mean, WTF is that???

Anyway, the reason for this is partly because you are welcome to request wild, outlandish things that you are ashamed to admit to, but also because I don't want to risk the appearance of favoritism in whose fics are chosen, because...

5) Like in kink memes, not every request will be answered. I will answer as many as possible, but it will depend entirely on how many I actually get whether or not that will be possible. I will not actually limit to 25 fics; if I decide to do more I will either post longer or post multiple fics on the same day.

6) Please request in the following manner: Fandom/Original work of choice, character and/or pairing of choice, prompt. Prompts can be vague or specific. Warning: my attitude towards prompts will sometimes involve a lot of creative interpretation. If you want something specific, be specific.

7) The theme is kink-meme style. Let me explain what I mean by this. "Kink" does not necessarily mean sex. It just means "what's your kink", ie what 'turns you on' in fiction. This could be as specific as "character x ties up character y and melts caramel all over him" or as generic as "hurt/comfort". Hurt/comfort is a big fic kink of mine. Maybe you like deathfics. Maybe there's a clip of backstory you've been dying to see. Be creative!

8) However, just because kink doesn't mean sex does not mean you are not welcome to request sexy prompts. I'm anticipating plenty of porny requests. Just don't feel obligated if porn isn't what frosts your cupcake.

9) I am RULING OUT the following possibilities, just because I know I would never write them and therefore there is no point wasting your time requesting them: bestiality and bodily secretions. Note: I don't think there's anything wrong with you if that's your kink. (Well.... bestiality maybe a little.) It's just something that I am not ever going to write.

10) Like in kink memes, the length of the response may vary. Due to the format, most will probably only get drabbles of some variety. However, if I find an idea particularly awesome, I may in fact develop it into something longer. Note that fics of this variety probably won't appear right away.

11) All requests must be in by November 30th.


This is partly something I'm doing as a writing exercise, sort of trying to stretch my boundaries since I've had really bad Writer's Block on everything that doesn't take place in the FIG universe. But also just because it seems like it would be something really fun. =D I'm just sayin', if I wind up writing 25 FIG prompts, I'm sorry.

In other news, I had a dream last night that was a Glee/Hunger Games crossover. This would be the best fic ever! How much fun would it be to watch Rachel die horribly? =D

Finn will rally bravely, but ultimately be brought down by ..... I dunno. Let's say Puck.

The ending showdown would be between Santana and Sue Sylvester. And Santana would win. I do seriously believe that she is the bigger bitch.
